      The show did have meaning in the heart. But because of Michael Landon the show was canceled. He decided to cut back on the episodes being made so the show was canceled. They were producing up to two dozen shows a year but then was cut back to less than half that amount! To Bad!

      I gave up new movies and Orwellian aired TV a three years ago and live in these types of shows these days. Get Smart, Hogan's heroes, McHales Navy, Touched By an Angel etc etc etc. There is enough to keep me laughing and crying forever and they will never match it again in my lifetime. For me, only two Star Wars exist and one Mad Max - it is a good world.

    • @cathyt144

      Dont look at the gift as meaningless because its free . Look at it as a true blessing that is too large to have a monetary value placed on it. Some of the best things in life are free. Maybe Landon and French wanted it this way after their deaths. To continue blessing others without any stress of viewers having to pay out of pocket. They both had huge hearts after all. Be blessed. The Lori Parks character is played by Carrie Wells. Her mother passed away two years after The Bad Seed (1985) was made, after which she retired from acting to become a singer. She is a professional singing coach and piano teacher in Los Angeles. Carrie is of mixed Middle Eastern descent and refers to herself as "ethnically ambiguous". She stopped using her childhood stage name of "Carrie Wells" and, as an adult, performs under the name of Carrie Ray.

    I have noticed about kid actors. How the parents act will determine if the kid will have problems once they become adults. If the parents continue to do their job as parents by keeping their kid grounded and if parents keep a functioning family life for them, it seems like those kids seem to fare better in life when they reach adulthood. It seems the ones who don't have parents who "went all Hollywood." or have families who a dysfunctional relationships with each other.

      Michael Landon was not a child actor. He didn't get his first acting role until he was 20 years old. Yes, he played a high school student in "I Was a Teenage Werewolf", but he was a 21 year old grown man playing a high school student. So, NO, this episode was not an introspective look into his life as a child actor as you say. However, having been in the acting business since he was 20 years old, I'm sure he had seen his share of bratty, spoiled child actors over the years.

    • @GlennaVan
      @GlennaVan 3 года назад +2

      @@CubanGirl-oo4pg The reality is that the on-screen Michael Landon was not the off-screen Michael Landon. None of the three characters in his t.v. series would have been married three times and have nine children. We can greatly admire his on-screen characters but also acknowledge that is not the way the man who played them lived his life - it too often is not. To acknowledge that is not judging but simply facing the reality of life. It doesn't make him good or bad, it makes him human like the rest of us. However, it is important to understand the characters we see in movies and television are not the image that is real and to not expect the people in our lives to live up to that on-screen image. The people in our lives don't have script writers, directors and film editors. They - and us - are all humans with all the frailties and virtues of other humans.
      He had a difficult childhood as many of us have had. As sparodic as his adult life was, he may have wanted to live the kind of life he exhibited on-screen, but what matters is his on-screen personas had a lot to offer to all of us but we need to remember these are controlled characters, not real people.
      He was a great actor, director, writer, etc. He was not a saint - none of us are. He did, however, have a privilege few of us have every had and that is to leave a legacy of characters to look up to.

    I never met Michael Douglas in person but I do beleive..he was a real humble kind guy! this episode reminds me of some Stars I met in my life wayback home in the Philippines..there were some Actors and even just DAncers on Tv with air in their heads! really disgusting characters...seems they own the -world!!! God bless you Jonatahn and Mark.....

    After 40 years (for sure not only 7 years) i remember, having seen these characters, but in korean version, Dream High 1, Bae Suji played the mean-choosy girl (star) while Hum EunJung roled her servant-friend. As it seemed, the lower servant was chosen by the famous but keen producer, starred Bae YongJun. The star after been punished, try to catch-up and admitted of her selfish/foolish past (assisted also by her boyfriend), could she overcome and regained freindship of her servant-friend.. pretty drama, i mean both. And the later full with unbelievable lovely songs (ost.), You all should.. try to see once. (But maybe it's more suited for young adults) , touchy kpop ost.(!?!)

      I take that back. Only reason why it worked out in this case becaues God intervened and the angel had supernatural power. In real life, kindness would not help such person only fuel it.

      Perfect example. Thats why he was a little kid for most of his life, because he never had the chance to be a kid, it was always showtime. He was used because of his talent.

    watched this 1 last night on Bible TV :) I was looking into it because it had "the feeling" of the 70-ties. Those that lived in those times might also long back to these days. But apparently it was 1984-1985 that this episode was shot. Still much nicer times than today imo. No global health organization that aims to kill us all. Genocidal billionaires did not exist back then but they were in the making in 1985
